The Shy Lowen horses and ponies, once rehabilitated, are rehomed using loan contracts. They leave the sanctuary to live in the care of their loan owner who has to become a Friend of Shy Lowen at a cost of £10 monthly. The loan owner is responsible for the cost of maintaining the horse in their care.
Once a person has become a Friend of Shy Lowen they can have as many horses and ponies as they can care for without having to increase their £10 payment into sanctuary funds.

Merlin and Merrylegs
Aged shetland geldings who have to be rehomed together. Both fit and well although Merrylegs has sweet-itch.
Sunny and Shergar
two confident little shetland colts. We would anticipate these two making brilliant childrens ponies when they mature or maybe a scurry pair.

Good to ride but can be difficult
to manage when led if there is
food in the vicinity. Needs
managed grazing owing to history of laminitis.
